509 Ether Mono Suit

The Ether Mono Suit from 509 is a limited edition, single-piece shell that is engineered for extreme snow activity. The highlight of the Ether Suit is the Sympatex outer membrane. This performance fabric is waterproof and breathable with a 45K/25K rating, but features one particular characteristic that distinguishes it from other waterproof alternatives: Sympatex provides active moisture management.

The level of breathability of Sympatex changes to match demand. As the rider’s exertion increases and the rider starts to sweat, the environment within the suit gets more humid. Sympatex reacts to humidity. The rider’s perspiration activates a change in the structure of the Sympatex fabric, and the fabric adjusts to reach its maximum breathability.

But the Ether Mono Suit is also no one-trick pony. A harness system with adjustable shoulder and sternum straps evenly distributes the weight of the suit and keeps the suit properly positioned at the rider’s waist – improving mobility. An independent, zippered side gusset at the neck runs parallel to the offset main entry zipper. Riders can use this gusset to control ventilation or gain some added room around the neck when layering. In the same fashion, a separate fly system runs parallel to the main zipper, allowing the Ether’s main entry to always stay sealed from the cold. A removable hood, built-in goggle chamois and included knee armor are ready for full days on the mountain.
